wat is rueda de casino?
Rueda de Casino is in all respects the superlative of Cuban salsa. In this form of Salsa, you learn the most amazing combinations, techniques, and jokes in a circle.
It’s just salsa where you learn the combinations in a very dynamic way. We always show you how you can dance all combinations in pairs and combine them with LA-style, for example.
To do the learned combinations on the dance floor you don’t need a circle or other people, except for a few moves. (It is very fun and addictive with others, though!)
You do need to have taken at least two levels of salsa to be able to start this, but then it is really awesome to join!

Rueda is simply the superlative of salsa! With everything you learn, you can also dance as a couple on the dance floor. When you dance the figures in Rueda, you do so in a circle in a group in which there is a leader who calls out the figures, which are then performed by the whole group at the same time.
Because of this, you practice all the figures and techniques more often than in a regular salsa class. You can eventually do all the figures and combinations much better, and you can remember them easier. At Salsa4Fun you join the biggest specialist in Rueda de Casino Amsterdam.
Rueda is Rueda! But in the 80’s, due to the migration of many Cubans to Miami, there has been a lot of development and standardization with which it is called the Miami style.
The nice thing is that the standardization makes it easier to join in with other Rueda dancers, and many of the developments are now picked up and danced in Cuba itself, such as the tap for starting a faster turn. Thus it is unmistakably Cuban, rueda de casino.
Miami style is one of the most popular styles of Rueda de Casino. It originated in the 1980s in Miami, where a large Cuban community lived. This style was influenced by other dance styles, such as the Mambo, the Cha Cha Cha and Afro-Cuban dances.
Miami style is known for its fast footwork, use of quick figures and use of complex patterns in the dance. It is also known for its constant movement, spinning of the dancers and energetic atmosphere.
Miami style became popular mainly because of Miami dance schools, which attracted dancers from all over the world. The dance style soon spread to other parts of the United States and later to other countries, including the Netherlands.
In the 1990s, a group of Miami dancers began organizing large Rueda de Casino festivals, which became known as “Rueda de Miami.” These festivals attracted thousands of dancers from all over the world and contributed to the popularity of Rueda de Casino and Miami style.
Today, Miami style is still danced and celebrated all over the world. It is a lively and energetic dance style that brings people together and provides lots of fun and friendship.

Rueda de Casino originated in Cuba in the 1950s. It is a group dance performed in a circle (“Rueda” means “wheel” in Spanish), with couples dancing to the beat of the music and changing partners regularly according to the commands of a “caller.”
The dance style originated in Havana’s popular entertainment venues, where dancers enjoyed experimenting with new ways of dancing and interacting with each other. The concept of Rueda de Casino is based on the Son, a popular dance style in Cuba, but the addition of the circle and partner swapping made it unique and exciting.
Today, Rueda de Casino is a popular dance style around the world, with many variations and adaptations that have arisen in different parts of the world. It remains a lively and fun way of dancing that brings together people of all ages and backgrounds.
